Patrick Roy Vs Mario Tremblay
by
David Desjardins
Was the tenuous relationship between Patrick Roy and Mario Tremblay the real reason for the blowup that happened that fateful night in December 1995 while hosting the Detroit Red Wings? As we now are debating the honor of having Patrick Roy's jersey lifted to the rafters of the Bell Centre in Montreal, it is clear that Bob Gainey and the Montreal Canadiens organization have at the very least put the incident behind them, and possibly have now sided with St. Patrick even though his actions that night were deemed immature to most viewers.

Habs to Retire Patrick Roy's Montreal Canadiens Jersey Nov 22nd
by
Dennis Lindsay
After the 1993 Stanley Cup playoffs it seemed unthinkable that the Habs would need to carefully consider retiring Patrick Roy's Montreal Canadiens jersey some day. At that point in his career Roy had almost single-handedly won the Montreal Canadiens 2 Stanley Cups, and was already a shoe-in for the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame, and Montreal Canadiens' fans looked forward to many more years of success with Patrick Roy tending the nets for them.

Toronto (Arenas - St Patricks) Maple Leafs
by
Thomas D. King
Originally known as the Arenas, the franchise signed a superstar to an NHL contract. Hall-of-Fame member Harry Cameron signed the deal December 15, 1917. The Toronto Arenas changed ownership and rejoined the NHL as the St. Patricks for the 1919 - 20 season. St. Pats changed ownership Valentine's Day 1927 and used the new name, Maple Leafs, for the last part of the 1926 - 27 season.

State Of Affairs For The Montreal Canadiens
by
Jon N Dean
How can you give a coach a contract that awards a bonus for being fired? Who was the brains that signed off on that bright idea? There is no way this is standard practice around the league. This type of bonus presents a clear and present conflict of interest.

Beat LA: 4 Reasons the Los Angeles Kings Are the Most Favorable Match-Up For the San Jose Sharks
by
Scott Semmler
In a final weekend of the NHL season that can only be described as "nutty," some teams got the match-up they wanted in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and others did not. I will gladly insert the San Jose Sharks into the "match-up they wanted" category for several reasons. The Sharks will play the Los Angeles Kings in the 1st round of the NHL Playoffs that will start in San Jose at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

New To Hockey? Learn About The Montreal Canadiens - The Oldest Team In The NHL!
by
Jose Baron
Anyone who wants to have a working understanding of the history of hockey needs to be familiar with the Montreal Canadiens (note: "Canadiens," the French spelling, is the correct spelling of the team name). Speaking of French, a French nickname for the team is "Les Habitants," and are sometimes called "the Habs" in English.

The Great Career of Chris Osgood

John Pessetto
He has won three Stanley Cups, two of them as the primary goaltender during those playoffs. Be serious, how many other goalies can say, "I punched the second best goalie ever right in the face"? Mike Vernon, and nobody.

Practice With Your Violin Tutor - If You Have Only Talent, You Got Nothin'
by
Hailey Alton
Of course, you are a natural at this violin business; in fact, you are probably a prodigy, a phenomenal diamond in-the-rough. As you sit in your first chair and play the prime parts of the best pieces, you feel profound compassion for the poor pimply kid in the last chair. Drenched in argyle and afflicted with socks unmatched, the guy at the section's low end has nowhere near the talent you bring to the instrument. And when the poor anchorman plays, it seems as though every note and every measure comes at the expense of great labor and agonizing pain.

2010-11 Vancouver Canucks NHL Predictions and Odds
by
T.O. Whenham
Having just returned from Vancouver, I can tell you that the fans there are definitely optimistic about this team. Sickeningly optimistic, really - like optimistic enough to be planning the Stanley Cup parade route already. Fact is, they have every reason to be excited. They are the only legitimate contender in this division, and are perhaps the best team in the entire conference.

The 2011 Stanley Cup Final - What Happened to the Vancouver Canucks?
by
Ron Malezis
After excelling as the best team during the regular season, the Vancouver Canucks looked oddly out of place during the 2011 Stanley Cup Final series. They were not only expected to reach the Final; they were expected to win. So what went wrong? Why did this team that appeared destined to win it all end up losing to the Boston Bruins?

HR Lessons From The Canucks - What Businesses Can Learn From The Firing of Dave Nonis
by
Cissy Pau
The firing of Vancouver Canucks General Manager, Dave Nonis, has catapulted the Canucks and its owners into the glaring light of public scrutiny. The media activity and the public response across the city has highlighted some critical lessons for all companies on how to effectively manage employees. For small businesses, in particular, these lessons can be particularly helpful as they compete for talent in this tight labour market.
