Major League Baseball - World Series Payday
by
Mickey Morgan
The St. Louis Cardinals earned a bonus of $323,170 for winning the 2011 World Series. In all, players from 10 different teams received post season bonuses, including four teams that didn't make the playoffs. Who gets what is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Each playoff series has a separate pool: the Division Series, the League Championship Series, and the World Series. The bonus pool is funded by 60 percent of the gate receipts for the first three games of the Division Series, the first four games of the League Championship Series, and the first four games of the World Series.

The Story of the Very First World Series
by
Nathan R Park
The very first World Series was played in 1903 between the Boston American League club (now the Boston Red Sox) and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Although the first world series wasn't played until 1903, there was a previous championship called "The Championship of the United States" and "World's Championship Series", which the winners of the National League and American Association had played from 1884 to 1891. The Series ended when the American Association folded in 1891.

How The Cubs Can End The World Series Drought
by
Gary W Grant
It's safe to say that the Chicago Cubs are one of the famous teams in all of sports due to the fact that they have lost for over a century. The last time the Cubs have actually won a World Series title was in 1908. For those of you who do not want to do the math, that is 103 years.

The World Series, Hollywood Style
by
Zack Mandell
America's Pastime, baseball, has been the subject of many movies. In the late 1980s, Kevin Costner practically made a career out of baseball movies, with "Bull Durham" and "Field of Dreams" ranking as two of the best movies of all time about the sport. For all baseball movies, there is an ultimate goal that the main characters try to reach.
