When do the clocks go back
Competing Against the Clock
by
Lance Winslow
As a long-distance runner, but also specializing in running the mile back in high school and college I always found it interesting that runners would come to the end of the race and speed up, giving it one last kick into the finish line, and hopefully across the tape which was strewn across the track. In many regards this seems fairly illogical, although of course I did engage in such quote; "race tactics" often enough.

The play clock shall automatically default to 40 seconds and start immediately upon being re-set by the play clock operator when any official signals that the ball is dead after a play (the dead ball signal should be given). Anything else the 25 sec will be used.

The Evolution of the Clock
by
Leie Gabrielle G. Hisona
The clock has been one of the devices which can be traced back since early civilization. The notion of "time" has already been used ever since, which helped everyone to synchronize their own activities with the others. In fact, even before clocks were used, time has already been used by the people; though, not as accurate as today's. The people before used time in relation to the sun; what they were counting before were days, not hours, minutes or seconds.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Goes the Merry Go-Round of the Clock
by
Miriam B Medina
How many nights after days of whirlwind madness of juggling a job, family and kids or whatever else there is to do, do we drag our tired body into bed, only to find that no sooner do we lay our head down on the pillow only to hear the alarm go off, signaling that it was time for the marathon to start again. It seems as though we are constantly on a moving treadmill, never enough time to catch our breath.

Evolution of the Clock
by
Elizabeth Diane Kelly
"Necessity is the Mother of Invention", or so the saying goes. Hundreds of years ago it became necessary for humanity to organize their time into a chronological orderly system. As far back as the eighth century Hesiod wrote about celestial bodies in conjunction with the growing of crops. Crops must be harvested when certain stars were rising and the fields should be plowed when the stars go down.

Discover How to Stimulate the Aging Pituitary Gland - Turn the Clock Back on Aging Naturally
by
Rob De
The pituitary gland is the master gland of the human body and it is responsible for the secretion of Human Growth Hormone throughout the life span of a person. During childhood, HGH promotes growth and, as a person grows older, it plays an important role and regulates metabolism. Research shows that secretion of HGH is highest during childhood and adolescence and the natural production of HGH gradually drops from the age of 30.

Big Ben - The Clock Tower of the Palace of Westminster
by
William Lind
The most famous and the largest bell ever cast at Whitechapel foundry was baptized as the 'Big Ben' after some interesting debate in the 19th century British parliament. In 1844, the British parliament unanimously passed the decision to incorporate a clock tower within the Houses of Parliament. Erected during the rebuilding of Parliament, the tower's clock went into service on September 7, 1859.
