Thursday Night Football - New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears
by
Dennis Reynolds
The Chicago Bears (7-6, 6-6-1 ATS) deal with the NFL's best offense when they host the surging New Orleans Saints (7-6, 9-4 ATS) on Thursday Night Football. Public bettors don't seem too concerned about the Bears' predicament: About 64% of wagers on the spread have come in on Chicago as slight early favorites. That type of action could move the line in the Bears' direction before kickoff, although the numbers could change once wise guys start weighing in on the matchup.

SEC Thursday Night Showdown
by
Jimmy Boyd
Last season, Auburn took it to the Gamecocks to the tune of 48-7. This season, South Carolina will be looking to get revenge on its home turf. Columbia, South Carolina is unfamiliar territory for the Auburn Tigers as they haven't played a game there since 1997. Expect the Gamecocks to air it out in this one.

FSU/NC State Thursday Night ACC Action
by
Jimmy Boyd
Florida State enters Thursday night's game already behind three teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Seminoles will have to conquer the road if they want to get back in the division hunt as they will play three of their next four games away from Tallahassee. At the beginning of the season, many experts would have counted out the Wolf Pack in this matchup, but after an upset win over then twentieth ranked Boston College on September 23rd, N.C. State might not be as bad as speculated. I'm not ready to jump on the band wagon yet.

Thursday Night CFB-Maryland/West Virginia
by
Jimmy Boyd
Maryland and West Virginia have played each other every year since 1980 and the all-time series is knotted at 21-21-2. As even as this series has been, my first instinct is to take the 16.5 points Maryland is getting, but the Terrapins have dropped two straight to the Big East powerhouse. However, the Mountaineers have not won three straight over the Terrapins since 1996-1998. Maryland was in good position to disallow any winning streaks by its Big East rivals last season before giving up 24 fourth quarter points to lose 31-19.

Dolphins/Steelers Thursday Night NFL Opener
by
Jimmy Boyd
Miami travels north to Pittsburgh to meet the defending Super Bowl Champions and to get the 2006 NFL season underway. Ben Roethlisberger's absence in the starting lineup from an appendix ailment, not a motorcycle crash, has made the season opener a pick 'em game. Now it will be up to Charlie Batch to spoil Daunte Culpepper's attempt to get his fresh start off on the right foot.

Botafogo V Atletico PR - Football Betting Preview
by
Jimbo Thomas
Prior to Thursday nights loss with Sao Paulo, Botafogo were on an unbeaten 7 game roll, don't froth at the mouth too much though as 4 from that roll were draws. However, most of their draws have been away and today they face a team in Atletico PR who have won only 2 games from the last 7.

Where Football Season Never Ends
by
Jack Kean
It is true of course, that in the South football season just never seems to end. For a while there are no games, but that doesn't mean the season is over. It just moves from games to recruiting to practice to predictions to games again.

College Football Notebook (11/10)

I've always believed that the number zero is extremely defining! In the world of sports, as in real estate, it's all about "location, location and location!" A zero in the right-hand column of the won-loss standings is a very good thing, while one in the left-hand column, is not so good!
