Other Teams Close Gap On Argentina And Brazil In South America
by
Victor A Dixon
In South American soccer the gap between traditional power houses Argentina and Brazil and the other countries has been closing. In Copa America in 2011 Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela finished second, third and fourth respectively while Argentina and Brazil failed to win a place. In world cup qualifying a similar trend has been developing since 2000 and the closing of the gap is also appearing at youth level.

What Does Winning The FIFA Club World Cup Prove?
by
Victor A Dixon
Winning the FIFA club world cup proves that the rich European clubs are more likely to win because they can afford to buy the best players in the world. This has distorted the purpose of the competition which is to showcase soccer standards from the different confederations and has also caused a drain of soccer talent particularly from South America.

Choices and Chances - Does America Know the Difference?
by
Michael Bresciani
In an era where change is touted it is becoming apparent that most of what is being offered as change is really just taking a chance. Many of the changes offered are being rejected because they seem to be flattening our freedom to make a choice, with one exception. Let's see.

The Soccer Protests In Brazil
by
Victor A Dixon
The hosting of the World Cup by Brazil in 2014 has fueled widespread protests because FIFA will get the benefits at the expense of local economy. FIFA needs to share more of the profits and share in developing infrastructure to permanently benefit the locals.

And I Thought Yacht Racing Was Boring!
by
Ann F Knight
I always dismissed yacht racing as deadly dull. Unless you happen to own a yacht, or you're a sad would-be yachtie who's only got as far as investing in a ditty bag and dodger, then why on earth would you subject yourself to such a soporific sport. After watching the second event in the 34th America's Cup World Series in Plymouth, England, I've changed my mind. Yacht racing, I've now concluded, is the most exhilarating spectator sport known to man.

Brazil, Why Not?
by
Marie-France Dayan
Who hasn't, at some time in their lives, looked at the value of property in a given area (think Spain, Portugal, France) and thought, "If only I had bought a piece of property back then when prices were low, I'd be sitting on a goldmine right now"? Well, now is that time in northeast Brazil! The reasons are numerous, but let me quickly tell you why.
