Fanatical Fall 2013 - Big Astrological Changes
by
Janet Moon
There will be a Lunar Eclipse, Mercury Retrograde, Solar Eclipse, and Uranus-Pluto Square from late September through Mid November 2013. Uranus and Pluto are two slow outer planets and aspects between them often last for years. The battle (square) between them began in the Spring of 2011 and will continue through Winter 2015. Because these planets are in retrograde almost as often as they are moving direct, the angle between them will widen and narrow throughout the process. So, there will be times when their energy peaks and then wanes again. Uranus and Pluto will be building up to another peak though the Fall of 2013 and as they approach their climax, Mercury will begin his retrograde, and the Sun and Moon will line up for their biannual ecliptic events.

Astrology Forecast for October 2013 - General Tendencies for All Sun Signs
by
Janet Moon
The Uranus-Pluto conflict will be escalating throughout the month of October, and the month will begin with the Sun irritating the hell out of these two planets. We may get a bit of a reprieve from the New Moon through Columbus Day, but by mid month we will be in the midst of a lunar eclipse and another Mercury retrograde. And, as we approach Halloween and the end of October, there could be some very rash and fanatical behavior going on around us. Keep your schedules light, keep a stash of extra money, and take care of your health this month. You are probably going to need the extra time, money, and energy.

Astrology Forecast for November 2013 - General Tendencies for All Sun Signs
by
Janet Moon
November could begin with a great big bang. Uranus and Pluto will hit the peak of their disturbance on November 1st bringing upsets and strife. Two days later on November 3rd, we will be under the light of a total solar eclipse, and that pretty much guarantees changes for most of us. Then we will have to deal with Jupiter turning retrograde and Mercury turning direct, before our luck finally changes around mid-month. In fact, the second half of November will not only signal a return to normalcy, but we may even get rewarded. Thanksgiving should go well, and we may find some very interesting bargains on Black Friday.

The Light That Bends!
by
Judith E Braffman-Miller
When a small star like our Sun runs out of hydrogen fuel, its core collapses, and it puffs its outer layers of beautiful varicolored gases into Space, leaving behind a dense little stellar remnant--its former core--called a "White Dwarf." In April 2013, astronomers announced that NASA's Kepler Space Telescope had beamed back evidence of a White Dwarf bending and magnifying the light of its sister star, a still-"living" Red Dwarf. This light-bending feat is yet another piece of evidence that Albert Einstein was right about General Relativity, one prediction of which is that light can be bent, or warped, by gravity.

Prophecy: From Science To Superstition And Beyond
by
John Prytz
Prophecy tends to be the art or science of predicting events in advance, hence knowing in advance what the future will be or is likely to be. However, the art and the science of prophecy can be drastically in opposition to each other in terms of credibility and success.

Indian Cricket
by
Chandra Lakshmi
The usual morning haze will be starting to burn off when David Beckham strides out on to the turf at the Home Depot Center today to be unveiled as the glamorous new face of Major League Soccer. Not since Pele graced the long defunct New York Cosmos in the 1970s has the game across the pond boasted a name this glitzy. Yet, while LA Galaxy rejoice in their coup, the prevailing sense is that the entire domestic league is holding its breath to witness 'the Beckham effect' and gauge whether he can change the face of football in the United States.

South Africa Vs West Indies - Are West Indies Selectors Making Way for a Possible Brian Lara Return?
by
Basil C. Hill
The just concluded West Indies vs. South Africa 2nd Cricket Test Match, which South Africa obligingly accepted and evened the series, is an interesting case study of cricketing chess--if there is such a game. The West Indies won the first test in convincing manner and looked very much like the winning West Indies of yesteryear. What followed is not good cricket, but something else.

Emotional Expressions
by
Ameeta Agnihotri
Imagine what life would be if we did not feel the feelings we feel. Imagine if all of us walked around like zombies with an abstractly distant smile plastered on our faces just because we wanted to be happy all the time. Or, what would happen if all of us were angry all the time and felt like killing somebody when we won a lottery or got a fabulous hike in our pay packet!
