VIRAT KOHLI - A Force to Reckon With
by
Sneha T
The year 2012 heralded in a lot of promises for Virat Kohli who has the fortune of having them fulfilled as the months rolled by. For the young man, who stood back, belted out 90 runs and chased down the Ranji trophy, all while fighting back the tears that threatened to gush out every time he thought about his father's demise, nothing is more than deserving.

ICC World Cup 2011: Hail Virat Kohli, Future India Captain
by
Suresh Iyer
India thrashed Bangladesh in the opening game of ICC World Cup 2011, after Shakib Al Hasan offered India a suicidal invitation to bat on the deadest of batting strips at Mirpur. India piled up 370/4 on the back of Sehwag's (175) and Kohli's (100) tons.

WC 2011 - India Vs England - An Analysis
by
Srinivasa Gopal
If a team cannot defend 339 runs, then it just means that either they have been over powered or they have bowled badly. India has scored in excess of 325 runs in their last 3 outings. Witnessing the tie today, it seems very impractical that in order to win easily a team batting first must put up at least 350 - 360 runs on the board. Was it bad bowling by India or was it a fantastic effort by England? All said and done it was a case of an easy win situation that was squandered away by the Indians, it was an uphill task for the English players who transformed adversity into a match winning situation. Kudos to the England team for responding so well to the Indian Onslaught. All in all a great day for cricket!

T20 World Cup - India Vs England: Hits and Flops
by
Himanshu Triphathi
Super Sunday did not turn out to be that great for defending champions England as they crashed to a 90 runs defeat against India in their last group league match up at Colombo. It was England's worst ever defeat in terms of runs. The match which was hyped as one of the best matches of the tournament, however, ended up as a lopsided affair with India displaying a clinical all-round performance to emerge as the group A winners.

Cricket World Cup 2011 - Team India's Chances
by
Nayeemuddin Mohammad
This is the first time in the history of one day cricket World Cup tournaments that India has emerged as the strongest team in the tournament and top favorites to win the coveted trophy. India has won the World Cup for the first and for the only time in 1983. Team India was not even one of the best teams in the 1983 edition, leave alone being the best team in the tournament.

ICC World Cup 2011: Team India Favourites
by
Suresh Iyer
So how can India plan their campaign? For a start they should concentrate on topping Group B. There are likely to be a few tough matches with South Africa, England and West Indies also in the group, apart from co-hosts Bangladesh. Even if they were to lose to one of those teams, the intrinsic strength of the team should see them top the group, before going on to the business end of the tournament.
